My Dr. Lanzer Experience and Taboo Beauty Treatments…

I recently visited Dr Lanzer’s clinic in Malvern for some pre-races pampering! With four races days, jam packed into just on week, all the drinking, makeup, fake tan and late nights really take their toll on the skin. So it was very important to get treatments done in the lead up, to ensure my skin stayed hydrated and clear. Dr Lanzer sparked my interest when he featured in a television series ‘Cosmetic Coffee’, where he takes patients through different treatments in each episode. I’m a massive fan on the popular US TV show ‘Botched’, so naturally, I got into Dr Lanzer’s ‘Cosmetic Coffee’ pretty quickly. You can watch all the episodes online here, and get to know Dr Lanzer as well as his lovely nurses on staff. Dr Lanzer is very well known in Australia as a leading Cosmetic Surgeon, but also offers a range of beauty treatments. He also recently released his very own skin care range, D’Lumiere Esthetique <insert link>, specialising in anti-aging – something we can all relate to striving for! If you’re on …

Why Sunescape is my MVP tanning product this winter…

I’ve basically tried every single fake tanning product out there, so you can really take my word for it when I say that Sunescape is a fantastic product. I’m such a fake tan connoisseur that I even compartmentalise my tanning products into subcategories – because you know…some are better depending on the circumstances…it’s a thing okay. Anyway, Sunescape is truly my favourite for winter because: – It’s not too dark. Sunescape offers two shades in their mousse range; a Week in Fiji and Month in Maui. Even their darkest shade promises a natural looking tan. Now I am all for a dark tan, but definitely not in winter. I steer clear of many of my favourite brands in winter because it looks so unnatural. – It works quickly. Whilst I will often sleep in my tan to let it develop overnight, I have used Sunescape in the morning and washed it off 4-5 hours later, to still find I have a really decent colour. It’s perfect for when I have events on in the evening, because sleeping in tan is never ideal. I mean, …

Listen Up: A Bit About Me

Recently I caught up with James O’Connor who created the podcast series JocX. Each episode (and there are now over 50 eps!), James chats to individuals about their areas of expertise, personal achievements and beliefs around success and life in general. In my interview with James, we talk about my professional career, blogging and everything else in between. I also talk about what I do each day to make sure I’m always on top of things (not really, but I try!) and give some further insight into my life, both professional and personal. Give it a listen! I hope you enjoy it! Listen on iPhone Listen on Andriod

Get Healthy Hair with Davroe for Summer

So I’m a firm believer that maintaining healthy hair makes you feel and look better. Naturally, my hair is a rare colour of auburn – so basically a shade of red. Yes I’m a red head! I love my natural hair colour because it suits my complexion, and it’s very unique. However I’ve also experimented with countless shades; black, blonde, dark brown, red-red, deep purple (yeah don’t ask…). Anyway, recently, I made the decision to give blonde another go. My previous experience with becoming a blonde was a disaster, so I was very nervous about it. This time round, I LOVE my colour, and intend on staying this way for a while, so it’s been really important for me to look after the health of my hair with the help of quality products.  I’m finding that using the Davroe range has helped my blonde colour stay nice and ashy (rather than becoming yellow) and the conditioning treatments help my hair to stay sleek and soft. Here’s a breakdown on what I’ve been using and why …

Super Quick, Super Delicious White Chocolate & Raspberry Muffins

These muffins are first and foremost, SO delicious. But second to that, they are so easy to cook – prep time is genuinely under 5 minutes unless you are seriously challenged when it comes to baking. Please note, they only make about 8 decent sized servings, so if you’re planning to bake for your a group I would double the recipe. So here you go… Ingredients: 1 3/4 cups self raising flour 2/3 cup caster sugar 200g white chocolate, roughly chopped 1 egg, beaten 1/2 cup sour cream 1/3 cup milk 100g butter, melted 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen raspberries Method: Preheat oven to 180 degree (fan forced, slightly higher if not). Line an 8-cup muffin pan with large paper muffin cases. Sift flour into a large mixing bowl. Stir in the sugar and chopped chocolate. Whisk together egg, sour cream, milk and melted butter. Add to the flour mixture and stir until just combined (make sure you don’t go over the top with the mixing or they won’t be fluffy!). Gently fold in …

Kelapa Skincare

So I know I’ve written a post previously about a good routine skin care regime, but I acknowledge that the products were very expensive. Obviously that lifestyle is not maintainable for everyone (including myself at times) so I wanted to share a new range that has kept my skin clear and soft and won’t break the bank. Again, I want to reiterate how important skin care is for women (and men). Why? Our face is the most exposed part of our bodies, exposed to wind, sun, dust and dirt; all day, every day. The facial visage is where you’ll first start to notice signs of aging. Wrinkles anyone? I’ve been brought up by a mother and grandmother, who have indoctrinated good skin care into my mind from a young age, and I’m so grateful for that – god bless those who genuinely mistake me for being ‘around’ 20 years old! I’ve also been blessed with naturally clear skin, so please don’t think that starting a skin care regime will transform you overnight. It won’t. And …
